Full-Time Electrical Draftsman Job Opportunity in Qatar | MEP Projects
Job Description
We are currently hiring an experienced MEP Draftsman (Electrical) to join our team and support ongoing construction and building services projects in Qatar. This position is suitable for someone who has hands-on experience preparing electrical drawings, layouts, and technical documentation for MEP projects.
The role focuses on producing clear and accurate electrical drawings that help engineers and site teams carry out their work efficiently. You will work closely with MEP engineers, project managers, and site supervisors to make sure all drawings match the project requirements and construction standards.
Candidates with at least 3 years of local experience in Qatar and a good understanding of electrical systems used in construction projects are encouraged to apply. Having a valid Qatar driving license will be an advantage.
About the Role
As an MEP Draftsman (Electrical), you will be responsible for preparing and updating electrical drawings used during different stages of construction projects. These drawings will guide installation teams and help ensure electrical systems are installed correctly.
Your daily work will include preparing shop drawings, electrical layouts, wiring diagrams, and installation drawings based on the designs provided by engineers. You will also update drawings whenever changes are made during the project and maintain organized records of all project documents.
The role requires someone who is organized, detail-focused, and comfortable working in a team environment where coordination between different departments is important.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare electrical shop drawings and detailed drafting documentation
- Create electrical layouts, wiring diagrams, and installation drawings for MEP projects
- Work closely with MEP engineers and project teams to ensure drawing accuracy
- Revise drawings whenever design changes or project updates occur
- Assist in preparing as-built drawings and final project documentation
- Make sure all drawings follow project standards and technical specifications
- Keep project drawings and documents properly organized and updated
- Support engineers and site teams with timely drawing updates
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of local experience in Qatar
- Experience working as an MEP Electrical Draftsman on construction projects
- Good working knowledge of AutoCAD or other drafting software
- Understanding of electrical systems used in building services and MEP installations
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and engineering specifications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting work
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Valid Qatar driving license preferred
