What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you won’t just be raising purchase orders—you’ll be a key part of keeping projects moving smoothly. From sourcing the right suppliers to making sure materials arrive on time and within budget, your work will directly influence project success.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
MEP Procurement & Technical Sourcing
- Handle procurement of major MEP items like chillers, transformers, HVAC systems, firefighting equipment, and plumbing materials.
- Identify and work with reliable suppliers—both locally in Saudi Arabia and internationally.
- Review technical documents, material submittals, and datasheets to ensure everything meets project and authority requirements.
- Manage RFQs, compare quotations, and support decision-making with clear technical and commercial evaluations.
Vendor Management & Smart Sourcing
- Build strong working relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Keep track of vendor performance—quality, pricing, and delivery timelines all matter.
- Look for smarter alternatives and cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality.
- Stay aware of market trends and pricing changes within the construction and MEP industry.
Negotiation & Cost Control
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to get the best value for the project.
- Prepare detailed comparison sheets and cost reports using Excel.
- Ensure all procurement activities stay aligned with project budgets and financial plans.
Contracts & Documentation
- Prepare and finalize Purchase Orders, subcontracts, and agreements with clarity and accuracy.
- Make sure all documents are compliant with company policies and project requirements.
- Keep records organized—this includes invoices, delivery notes, and vendor communications.
Logistics & Delivery Follow-Up
- Track orders from production to delivery, ensuring there are no surprises or delays.
- Coordinate shipping, freight, and customs clearance in line with Saudi regulations (including ZATCA).
- Step in quickly to resolve any delivery or supply chain issues.
Coordination with Site Teams
- Work closely with engineers and site teams to understand what’s needed and when.
- Make sure delivered materials match approved specifications and quantities.
- Support the team in resolving any material-related challenges on site.
What We’re Looking For
- A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering.
- 7 to 15 years of solid experience in construction procurement, especially within MEP projects.
- Strong understanding of the Saudi market, supplier network, and logistics processes.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems like SAP or Oracle.
- Advanced Excel skills for reporting and cost analysis.
- Someone who can negotiate confidently, stay organized, and handle pressure without losing focus.
Extra Points If You Have
- Experience in EPC or large-scale infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of ISO standards or quality systems
- Background in value engineering or cost optimization
- Professional certifications like CIPS
