Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Commissioning Engineer – Instrumentation & Control (I&C) / Distributed Control Systems (DCS) to join our team for ongoing Combined Cycle Power Plant projects in Saudi Arabia (KSA).
This position is ideal for professionals who have extensive hands-on experience in power plant commissioning, start-up activities, control systems, industrial automation, and plant handover processes. Your Key Responsibilities
As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Planning and executing commissioning activities for I&C, DCS, and PLC systems in combined cycle power plants.
- Carrying out pre-commissioning, cold commissioning, hot commissioning, and start-up activities in accordance with project requirements.
- Performing loop checks, signal verification, logic testing, functional testing, and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) for control systems.
- Preparing and reviewing control graphics, testing procedures, commissioning reports, and technical documentation.
- Coordinating with engineering, construction, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Working closely with clients, consultants, vendors, and OEM representatives during inspections and testing activities.
- Managing and guiding site teams to achieve commissioning milestones safely and on schedule.
- Participating in system troubleshooting, punch-list clearance, and final handover activities.
- Ensuring full compliance with Permit to Work (PTW), HSE requirements, and quality standards throughout the commissioning process.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 10 years of commissioning experience in combined cycle power plants or large-scale power generation projects.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong practical experience in Instrumentation & Control (I&C), DCS systems, PLC systems, and industrial automation.
- Hands-on experience in loop testing, logic development, graphics preparation, SAT activities, and control system troubleshooting.
- Experience working with Emerson DCS Systems and Siemens PLCs is highly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, control philosophies, and engineering drawings.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to coordinate teams and work effectively in a multicultural project environment.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Must currently be in Saudi Arabia (KSA) with a valid and transferable Iqama.
