About the Role
The HSE Officer plays an important role in making sure that all work activities are carried out safely and responsibly. In this position, you will monitor the site, support workers in following safety practices, and ensure that the project meets all health, safety, and environmental requirements.
You will regularly inspect work areas, identify possible risks, and work with supervisors and site teams to resolve any safety concerns. Your guidance will help ensure that everyone on site understands the importance of safety and follows the correct procedures.
This position requires someone who is observant, responsible, and confident in communicating safety instructions to workers and team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor daily site activities to ensure all work follows health and safety regulations
- Carry out regular site inspections and safety checks
- Identify hazards and help implement preventive safety measures
- Ensure all workers use the correct personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings for site teams
- Investigate incidents or near misses and prepare safety reports
- Maintain accurate safety documentation and inspection records
- Work closely with supervisors and engineers to address safety concerns
- Encourage and promote a strong safety culture on site
Daily Activities
A typical day may include:
- Inspecting work areas to confirm they are safe for workers
- Monitoring tasks such as lifting operations or working at height
- Checking that workers are using proper safety equipment
- Leading short safety meetings or toolbox talks
- Reporting any safety concerns and suggesting improvements
- Supporting site teams in following approved safety procedures
Requirements
Candidates applying for this role should meet the following requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in HSE roles
- At least 3 years of experience working in the oil and gas industry
- Valid NEBOSH IGC certification
- Ability to provide relevant experience certificates
- Good knowledge of workplace safety practices and regulations
- Strong observation, communication, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work effectively in industrial or project-based environments
