About the Role
As the Planning Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all planning and scheduling activities throughout the project lifecycle. You will play a key role in developing project schedules, monitoring progress, forecasting project performance, identifying potential risks, and ensuring that project milestones are achieved in line with contractual and operational requirements.
You will work closely with project management teams, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and client representatives to maintain project efficiency and support successful project delivery.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent technical knowledge of project planning tools, and extensive experience working on high-rise construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and maintain comprehensive project schedules using Primavera P6.
- Prepare baseline programs, target schedules, recovery plans, and look-ahead schedules.
- Establish Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and project planning procedures.
- Monitor project progress and compare actual performance against approved schedules.
- Identify delays, risks, and potential scheduling conflicts, and recommend corrective actions.
- Analyze project performance and prepare accurate forecasting reports.
- Coordinate planning activities across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams.
- Lead and mentor planning engineers and project controls personnel.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for senior management and stakeholders.
- Support project management with resource planning and project performance analysis.
- Participate in progress meetings with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project teams.
- Ensure compliance with project requirements, contractual obligations, and reporting standards.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in construction planning and project controls.
- Proven experience working on high-rise building projects is mandatory.
- Previous involvement in 5-star hotel developments or luxury hospitality projects is highly preferred.
- Strong expertise in Primavera P6, project scheduling, planning methodologies, and progress monitoring.
- Experience managing planning teams and coordinating with multiple project stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, resource planning, and project controls.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and reporting skills.
- GCC or Saudi Arabia project experience will be considered an advantage.
