Job Description
We are currently looking for a friendly and well-organized Receptionist to manage the front desk and welcome guests. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys interacting with people and creating a positive first impression for customers.
As a Receptionist, you will be the first person guests meet when they arrive at the restaurant. Your main responsibility will be to greet customers warmly, help them with seating arrangements, and make sure their experience starts in a pleasant and professional way. You will also assist with reservations, coordinate with restaurant staff, and support basic billing or cashier tasks when required.
The position suits someone who is polite, organized, and comfortable working in a busy restaurant environment while maintaining excellent customer service.
About the Role
In this role, you will manage the restaurant’s reception area and ensure that guests are welcomed and assisted properly. You will help manage reservations, guide customers to their tables, and communicate with waiters and other staff to ensure smooth service.
You may also assist with preparing bills, processing payments through the POS system, and answering customer questions about the restaurant or menu. A calm, friendly attitude and good communication skills are important for this position.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Greeting and Reception
- Welcome guests politely when they arrive at the restaurant
- Guide customers to their tables or waiting area
- Maintain a friendly and professional attitude with all guests
Reservation Management
- Manage table reservations through phone calls or in-person requests
- Keep an organized record of bookings
- Handle waiting lists during busy hours and inform customers about waiting times
Coordination with Restaurant Staff
- Communicate with waiters and kitchen staff about seating arrangements
- Ensure smooth coordination between guests and restaurant staff
Billing and Cash Handling
- Prepare customer bills when required
- Receive payments in cash, card, or other payment methods
- Provide correct change and issue receipts
POS System Operation
- Use the Point of Sale (POS) system to process orders and payments
- Maintain accurate records of transactions and daily sales
Customer Support
- Answer customer questions about menu items, prices, and services
- Assist guests with requests or concerns in a polite manner
- Report any customer issues to the manager when necessary
Daily Cash Reporting
- Count cash at the end of the shift
- Prepare daily cash and sales reports for the manager
Front Desk Organization
- Keep the reception and cashier counter clean and organized
- Ensure menus, bills, and receipt books are properly arranged
Requirements
- Previous experience in reception, customer service, or cashier roles is an advantage
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Friendly and professional attitude
- Basic knowledge of POS systems and cash handling
- Ability to stay organized and handle multiple tasks
- Comfortable working in a busy restaurant environment
