Job Description
We are currently seeking a highly experienced Structural Design Engineer to join a well-established steel fabrication company. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional who is passionate about structural engineering and has strong expertise in steel structures.
In this role, you’ll be involved from concept to execution—designing structures, solving real-world engineering problems, and working closely with fabrication and site teams to make sure everything comes together smoothly.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Designing and analysing steel structures for industrial and commercial projects
- Preparing calculations, connection details, and clear, accurate drawings
- Working alongside fabrication teams to ensure designs are practical and buildable
- Reviewing shop drawings and supporting the team during fabrication and installation
- Making sure all designs meet required safety standards and international codes
- Finding smart ways to improve designs while keeping costs and efficiency in mind
- Occasionally visiting project sites to better understand execution requirements
What We’re Looking For:
- 8 to 10 years of solid experience in structural design, especially with steel structures
- A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Hands-on experience in a steel fabrication company or similar environment
- Good working knowledge of tools like AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, ETABS, Tekla Structures
- Strong understanding of structural calculations, load analysis, and connection design
- Familiarity with standards such as AISC, BS, or Eurocodes
- Someone who can manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and communicate clearly
