Full-Time Hiring GEO ISO Engineer | Enterprise GIS and Metadata Specialist

We are currently hiring a skilled and motivated GEO ISO Engineer to join a professional geospatial project team working on advanced GIS and spatial data initiatives.

Job Overview
The selected candidate will play an important role in ensuring geospatial data, metadata, GIS services, and digital mapping products comply with international ISO standards, especially the ISO 19100 series.
You will work closely with GIS specialists, developers, QA/QC teams, and project stakeholders to improve data quality, metadata standards, geospatial interoperability, and compliance workflows across large-scale GIS environments.
Candidates with experience in government GIS projects, national mapping programs, smart city projects, digital twin platforms, or enterprise GIS environments will have an added advantage.
Main Responsibilities
Geospatial Metadata & ISO Compliance
- Develop and validate metadata profiles based on organizational and national standards
- Implement XML-based metadata using ISO 19115-3 schemas
- Maintain metadata quality, structure, and compliance
- Support metadata governance and enterprise GIS standards
- Ensure geospatial datasets and services meet ISO compliance requirements
GIS Services & Validation
- Validate and monitor geospatial web services including WMS, WFS, and REST APIs
- Ensure GIS services follow ISO and interoperability standards
- Develop validation rules using XSD and Schematron
- Coordinate with GIS developers and technical teams for service integration and compliance
QA/QC & Conformance Testing
- Prepare compliance checklists and validation procedures
- Develop automated testing workflows and QA/QC processes
- Conduct metadata audits, gap analysis, and compliance assessments
- Generate conformance reports and technical documentation
- Support certification readiness and quality improvement initiatives
Technical Guidance & Training
- Provide technical support and advisory on ISO 19100 standards
- Assist GIS teams with metadata creation, validation, and quality control
- Prepare SOPs, workflow documents, and best practice guidelines
- Conduct technical training sessions and compliance awareness programs
Educational Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in:
- GIS / Geospatial Engineering
- Geomatics
- Surveying
- Remote Sensing
- Computer Science with GIS specialization
- Geographic Information Science
Experience Required
- Minimum 10 years of experience in GIS systems and geospatial data management
- Strong hands-on experience with ISO 19100 series implementation
- Experience working with:
- National Mapping Agencies
- Enterprise GIS systems
- Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI)
- Smart City or Digital Twin projects
- Government GIS programs
- Strong background in geospatial QA/QC and metadata governance
Technical Skills
Candidates should have strong knowledge of:
- ISO 19115 / ISO 19115-3 Metadata Standards
- ISO 19119 Geospatial Services
- ISO 19131 and ISO 19157 standards
- XML, XSD, and Schematron
- UML Modeling
- WMS, WFS, and REST APIs
- GIS quality assurance frameworks
- Enterprise GIS architecture and workflows
Experience with the following will be an advantage:
- ArcGIS Enterprise
- QGIS
- GeoServer
- Cloud GIS platforms
- Metadata catalog systems
- Automation and validation tools
Preferred Qualifications
- ISO Lead Auditor Certification
- Experience in NSDI or National Atlas projects
- Knowledge of Smart City and Digital Twin initiatives
- Understanding of enterprise architecture and cloud GIS solutions
- Strong communication and documentation skills
