Job Description
We are currently searching for a dedicated and experienced HSE Officer (Health, Safety & Environment Officer) to join our team. This opportunity is ideal for professionals who are passionate about workplace safety and have strong experience in health and safety management, risk assessment, and safety compliance within construction or industrial environments.
The HSE Officer will play an important role in creating and maintaining a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace. You will work closely with project teams, supervisors, and management to ensure that all activities are carried out in line with established safety procedures, regulations, and company policies.
This role is well suited for someone who is proactive, responsible, and committed to promoting a strong culture of safety across the organization.
Role Overview
As an HSE Officer, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all workplace activities are conducted safely and in compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. You will regularly inspect the worksite, identify potential hazards, and help implement measures that prevent accidents and injuries.
The role also involves supporting employees by providing safety guidance, training, and awareness programs so that everyone on site understands and follows proper safety procedures.
You will help ensure that all workers use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and that the workplace meets the required safety standards at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Workplace Safety Management
- Monitor daily site activities to ensure health and safety procedures are being followed
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and industry safety regulations
- Identify unsafe conditions and take immediate action to improve workplace safety
- Support the development of a positive safety culture within the team
Site Inspections and Risk Assessments
- Conduct regular site safety inspections and workplace safety checks
- Identify potential hazards and carry out risk assessments
- Recommend practical solutions to minimize risks and prevent accidents
- Ensure that all work activities follow safe work practices
Safety Training and Awareness
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings for workers and site teams
- Provide guidance on safe work procedures and safety precautions
- Promote awareness about health, safety, and environmental protection
Incident Investigation and Reporting
- Assist in investigating accidents, incidents, and near-miss events
- Prepare clear and accurate incident reports and safety documentation
- Help implement preventive measures to reduce future risks
Safety Documentation and Compliance
- Maintain proper records of safety inspections, reports, and compliance documents
- Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Support internal safety audits and external safety inspections when required
Requirements
- Relevant qualification or certification in Health and Safety or HSE
- Proven experience working as an HSE Officer or Safety Officer
- Good understanding of workplace safety standards and regulations
- Experience in risk assessment, safety inspections, and incident reporting
- Ability to prepare clear safety reports and documentation
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work effectively with engineers, supervisors, and site workers
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or similar safety qualifications
- Previous experience in construction or industrial projects
- Knowledge of safety management systems and permit-to-work procedures
- Experience participating in emergency response planning and safety drills
