Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Electrical Engineering to join our team and contribute to the successful delivery of construction and MEP projects. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and has a strong background in electrical design, technical coordination, project execution, and troubleshooting.
As an Electrical Engineer, you will be involved in every stage of the project lifecycle, from reviewing designs and preparing technical documents to supporting testing, commissioning, and project handover activities. You will work closely with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and project teams to ensure all electrical works are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with project requirements and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Design Review & Technical Documentation
- Review electrical drawings, specifications, and Bill of Quantity (BOQ) documents.
- Prepare shop drawings, as-built drawings, and technical submittals.
- Review load schedules, single-line diagrams, panel schedules, and cable calculations.
- Prepare method statements, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and other project documentation.
Project Coordination
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal project teams.
- Prepare and submit material submittals and follow up on approvals.
- Raise Requests for Information (RFIs) and provide technical clarifications whenever required.
- Participate in project meetings and provide engineering support during project execution.
Site Execution & Quality Control
- Carry out quantity take-offs and verify project requirements.
- Prepare and submit MIR, WIR, and TIR documentation.
- Coordinate inspections with consultants and client representatives.
- Ensure all electrical installations comply with project specifications, authority regulations, and quality standards.
Troubleshooting & Technical Support
- Support electrical panel board troubleshooting and fault diagnosis.
- Identify and resolve issues such as short circuits, overloads, voltage fluctuations, phase imbalance, and circuit tripping.
- Coordinate with suppliers and site teams for panel modifications and corrective actions.
- Review cable routing, cable tray layouts, and voltage drop calculations to ensure efficient system performance.
Testing, Commissioning & Handover
- Assist with testing and commissioning activities.
- Maintain accurate testing records and project documentation.
- Support final inspections, system handover, and closeout documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in construction, MEP, industrial, infrastructure, or commercial projects is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, technical documentation, and project coordination.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and engineering software applications.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities within project deadlines.
