About the Restaurant Cashier Role
The Restaurant Cashier plays an important role in maintaining accurate billing, smooth payment transactions, and positive customer service within the restaurant. In this role, you will manage cash payments, card transactions, digital payments, and billing through POS systems.
You will also help maintain accurate records of daily sales, payment reports, and financial transactions, ensuring that the restaurant’s billing process runs efficiently.
This role is ideal for candidates who are comfortable working in fast-paced restaurant environments, busy dining hours, and customer-focused hospitality settings.
Key Responsibilities
Cash Handling and Transactions
- Receive customer payments through cash, debit card, credit card, or digital payment methods
- Issue receipts and maintain accurate restaurant transaction records
- Count and balance the cash register at the start and end of each shift
- Ensure secure and accurate cash handling procedures
Billing and Payment Management
- Prepare accurate restaurant bills and invoices using POS systems
- Process refunds, discounts, or payment adjustments when required
- Maintain daily restaurant sales reports and payment summaries
Financial Record Keeping
- Maintain records of daily restaurant sales, cash flow, and payment transactions
- Ensure proper documentation of all restaurant billing and financial records
- Assist with daily financial reconciliation and reporting
Customer Service
- Provide friendly and professional restaurant customer service during billing
- Assist customers with payment inquiries or billing issues
- Resolve customer concerns while maintaining a positive restaurant dining experience
Operational Support
- Maintain a clean and organized restaurant cashier counter and billing area
- Support restaurant staff during busy dining hours and peak service times
- Ensure smooth coordination between service staff and billing operations
Security and Compliance
- Ensure safe handling of restaurant cash payments and financial documents
- Follow company policies related to financial security and transaction accuracy
- Report any payment discrepancies to management
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Honest and responsible when handling restaurant financial transactions
- Good time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure during busy restaurant hours
- Basic to good knowledge of English, Urdu, Hindi, or Arabic
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to handle restaurant billing issues and customer complaints professionally
- Familiarity with POS systems or restaurant billing software is an advantage
- Valid Iqama required
