Job Description
We are currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Safety Officer to join our team for ongoing Aramco projects in Saudi Arabia. This is a great opportunity for professionals who have strong experience in oil & gas, refinery, petrochemical, industrial construction, shutdown, and heavy construction projects.
The ideal candidate should be passionate about workplace safety, capable of handling high-risk activities, and experienced in implementing Aramco safety standards across project sites. About the Role
As a Safety Officer, you will play a key role in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment across project sites. You will be responsible for ensuring all workers, subcontractors, and site activities follow Aramco safety procedures and international HSE standards.
You will work closely with supervisors, engineers, and project teams to identify potential hazards, reduce workplace risks, and promote a strong safety culture on site.
Main Responsibilities
Site Safety Monitoring
- Carry out daily site inspections and safety audits.
- Monitor ongoing activities and ensure all work is being performed safely.
- Check that safety signs, barricades, fire extinguishers, emergency exits, and PPE are properly available and maintained.
Safety Compliance
- Ensure all activities comply with Aramco safety regulations and company HSE policies.
- Guide workers and subcontractors on safe work practices.
- Take immediate action whenever unsafe conditions or unsafe acts are identified.
Risk Assessment & Hazard Control
- Conduct Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and risk assessments before work begins.
- Identify hazards related to:
- Hot Work
- Work at Height
- Confined Space Entry
- Excavation Activities
- LOTO Procedures
- Lifting Operations
- Welding & Cutting Activities
Permit-to-Work Coordination
- Review and monitor work permits before site activities begin.
- Participate in Joint Site Inspections (JSI) with supervisors and permit issuers.
- Ensure all required safety precautions are implemented before approving work activities.
Incident Investigation
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses.
- Prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions to avoid future incidents.
- Maintain proper records of all safety-related activities.
Safety Awareness & Training
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety induction sessions for workers.
- Promote awareness regarding workplace hazards and emergency procedures.
- Encourage a proactive safety culture among all site personnel.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience as a Safety Officer
- Previous experience in Aramco projects is highly preferred
- Strong background in oil & gas, refinery, petrochemical, or industrial construction projects
- NEBOSH IGC or equivalent certification is mandatory
- Aramco approval will be an added advantage
- Good knowledge of PTW systems, risk assessment, and hazard management
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Strong reporting and documentation skills
