Full-Time HSE Officer Needed – Industrial Safety and Shutdown Maintenance
Job Description
We are currently looking for an experienced HSE Officer to join a shutdown maintenance project in the Eastern Region of Saudi Arabia. This is an urgent opportunity for safety professionals who have experience working in industrial environments and shutdown projects, and who are committed to maintaining high safety standards on-site.
The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all work activities are carried out in line with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations. The role involves monitoring daily site operations, supporting workers and supervisors with safety procedures, and ensuring that the workplace remains safe for everyone involved in the project.
Candidates who have previously worked on Hadeed or PKN projects will have an advantage.
About the Role
As an HSE Officer, your main responsibility will be to ensure that all work on the project site is carried out safely and according to approved procedures. You will monitor daily activities, identify potential risks, and help workers follow proper safety practices.
You will work closely with project managers, supervisors, and maintenance teams to make sure that safety rules are followed at all times. The role also involves conducting regular safety checks, leading toolbox talks, and helping create awareness about safe working practices on the site.
This role requires someone who is proactive, attentive to detail, and confident in guiding teams on workplace safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Site Safety Monitoring
- Monitor daily site activities to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Ensure all tasks follow the permit-to-work system and approved safety procedures
- Identify potential hazards and help implement preventive safety measures
Safety Inspections
- Carry out regular site safety inspections and workplace hazard checks
- Monitor high-risk activities such as hot work, confined space entry, lifting operations, and working at height
- Ensure workers use the correct personal protective equipment (PPE)
Safety Awareness
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings for workers before work begins
- Promote awareness of safe working practices across the project site
- Support supervisors in maintaining a strong safety culture within the team
Reporting & Documentation
- Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or near misses to project management
- Maintain records of safety inspections, reports, and site safety documentation
- Assist with safety reports and updates related to project activities
Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid HSE authorization or safety certification (mandatory)
- Previous experience working as an HSE Officer or Safety Officer in industrial or shutdown maintenance projects
- Strong understanding of permit-to-work systems and safety procedures
- Experience in Hadeed or PKN projects is highly preferred
- Valid Iqama with supporting documents
- Candidates must currently be inside Saudi Arabia
- Immediate availability is preferred
Preferred Experience
Candidates with experience in the following areas will be given priority:
- Industrial plants or steel plant operations
- Shutdown maintenance projects
- Construction or maintenance safety supervision
- Industrial safety inspections and compliance
