Job Description
We are currently looking for a skilled MEP Draftsman to join our team and support ongoing construction and engineering projects. This opportunity is ideal for someone who has experience preparing Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) drawings and enjoys working closely with engineers and project teams.
As an MEP Draftsman, your main responsibility will be to create clear and accurate technical drawings that guide construction teams during the installation of building services systems. Your work will help ensure that mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems are installed according to approved plans and project requirements.
This role is well suited for individuals who are comfortable working with AutoCAD or similar drafting software, have a strong understanding of building services systems, and pay close attention to detail when preparing construction drawings.
About the Role
The MEP Draftsman plays an important part in supporting engineering teams by preparing detailed drawings for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems used in building projects.
In this role, you will turn engineering ideas and designs into technical drawings that construction teams can follow on site. You will also update drawings whenever there are design changes and make sure all project documentation is properly organized.
You will work closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure that all drawings are accurate and aligned with project requirements.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with technical designs and contributing to the success of construction and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed MEP drawings and layouts for construction projects
- Create technical drawings for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Work with engineers and project teams to ensure drawings are accurate
- Update drawings whenever design changes or revisions occur
- Ensure drawings follow project specifications and construction standards
- Maintain organized records of technical drawings and revisions
- Provide drafting support to engineering teams during project development
- Assist with preparing shop drawings and construction documentation
Daily Tasks
Your daily activities may include:
- Creating or updating AutoCAD MEP drawings
- Reviewing engineering designs before preparing technical layouts
- Revising drawings based on site feedback or project changes
- Coordinating with engineers to confirm the correct system layout
- Organizing drawing files and maintaining project documentation
Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates should have:
- Experience working as an MEP Draftsman in construction or engineering projects
- Good understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems used in buildings
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or other drafting software
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when preparing technical drawings
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
Preferred Skills
Candidates with the following experience may have an advantage:
- Experience working on commercial or residential construction projects
- Knowledge of MEP coordination and construction documentation
- Familiarity with BIM or Revit MEP software
