Job Description
We are looking for a Mechanical & Production Engineer who brings solid, hands-on experience in ship repair, shipbuilding, and marine engineering. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a busy shipyard environment and wants to grow their career in the UAE’s maritime sector.
In this position, you will be closely involved in the day-to-day production and mechanical activities of ongoing projects. From planning resources to supervising work on-site, your role will be key in ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will take charge of coordinating production activities, ensuring that manpower, materials, and equipment are properly planned and utilized. You’ll oversee mechanical work such as fabrication, installation, and maintenance, while also working alongside project managers, engineers, and workshop teams to keep everything running smoothly.
Monitoring progress, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring safety compliance will be part of your daily responsibilities. You’ll also be expected to prepare reports, track timelines, and step in to resolve technical challenges whenever they arise. Improving productivity and minimizing delays in shipyard operations will be an important part of your contribution.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and around 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in ship repair, shipyards, or marine-related projects. You should have a good understanding of marine mechanical systems, including engines, piping, and fabrication processes.
You’ll need to be comfortable reading technical drawings, managing production workflows, and coordinating with different teams. Familiarity with safety standards and international shipbuilding practices is important. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a practical approach to problem-solving will help you succeed in this role.
Added Advantage
Experience working in dry dock or offshore environments, along with knowledge of welding, machining, or steel structure work, will be beneficial. Exposure to classification standards and inspections will also be an advantage.
