Full-Time Apply for Quantity Surveyor Engineer Role | Construction and Cost Control
Job Description
We’re currently looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor Engineer to join our team. If you have a solid background in architectural quantity surveying, BOQ preparation, and construction cost estimation, and you enjoy working on real projects where your input truly matters — this could be a great fit for you.
In this role, you’ll be closely involved in managing project costs from start to finish. Your work will help ensure everything runs smoothly, stays within budget, and meets the required standards.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Carefully reviewing architectural drawings and preparing accurate quantity take-offs (plans, sections, elevations, and details).
- Creating and updating BOQs and measurement sheets as designs evolve.
- Checking quantities to make sure everything aligns with drawings and specifications.
- Preparing cost estimates and budgets at different stages of the project.
- Handling progress claims, interim valuations, and final accounts.
- Managing variations, additional works, and deductions, ensuring everything is properly recorded and approved.
- Supporting the tendering process, including reviewing quotations and comparing costs.
- Working closely with architects, engineers, consultants, and suppliers to keep everything coordinated.
- Keeping clear and organized records of all measurements, costs, and project documents.
- Monitoring expenses and helping control costs to avoid overruns.
What We’re Looking For
- A Bachelor’s degree in Architecture Engineering or a related field.
- Around 6–8 years of practical experience in quantity surveying, especially in architectural works.
- Strong understanding of drawings, materials, and construction methods.
- Confidence in preparing BOQs, measurements, and cost reports accurately.
- Good knowledge of cost control and contract processes (FIDIC knowledge is a plus).
- Someone who pays attention to details and can manage deadlines comfortably.
- A team player with good communication skills who can coordinate with different departments.
Tools & Skills (Preferred)
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for calculations and reporting.
- Ability to read and work with drawings in AutoCAD.
- Experience with tools like Plan Swift, Cost, or similar quantity surveying software is an advantage.
- Familiarity with ERP or project management systems is a bonus.
