Full-Time Mechanical Estimator Hiring in Qatar | EPC, Oil and Gas Careers
Job Description
We’re on the lookout for an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join our team for major Oil & Gas and shutdown projects in Qatar. If you have a solid background in cost estimation, tendering, and project budgeting, and you enjoy working on large-scale industrial projects, this could be a great fit for you.
What You’ll Be Doing:
In this role, you’ll be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for mechanical works. You’ll review project documents, understand the full scope of work, and work closely with engineering and procurement teams to build strong and realistic project bids.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for Oil & Gas and shutdown projects
- Review tender documents, drawings, BOQs, and specifications
- Carry out quantity take-offs for piping, mechanical, and structural works
- Evaluate materials, manpower, equipment, and subcontractor costs
- Coordinate with internal teams for technical inputs and clarifications
- Support the tendering and bidding process from start to finish
- Identify potential risks and suggest cost-effective solutions
- Assist in preparing both technical and commercial proposals
- Maintain updated cost records, vendor quotes, and estimation data
Project Scope You’ll Handle:
- Mechanical equipment installation (static & rotating)
- Piping fabrication and erection
- Shutdown and turnaround maintenance
- Industrial plant construction and upgrades
- HVAC and utility systems (added advantage)
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Around 5–10 years of hands-on experience in mechanical estimation
- Strong experience in Oil & Gas, EPC, or shutdown projects
- Good understanding of costing methods, BOQs, and tendering processes
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, and technical drawings
- Proficiency in MS Excel and estimation tools
- Strong analytical thinking and communication skills
