Full-Time Accounts Officer Position Available | Cost Accounting, ERP and Financial Analysis
Job Description
We are currently looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Officer to join our finance team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing financial operations, supporting business decisions, and ensuring compliance with accounting and tax regulations.
Your Key Responsibilities
Cost Accounting & Financial Analysis
- Monitor and analyse Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), manufacturing variances, and distribution expenses.
- Conduct profitability and margin analysis across products, brands, and sales channels.
- Prepare cost reports and provide insights to improve business performance and operational efficiency.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
Inventory & Stock Management
- Maintain accurate inventory records by reconciling physical stock counts with ERP data.
- Monitor inventory movements and investigate any discrepancies.
- Manage provisions for slow-moving, obsolete, damaged, and expired stock.
- Work closely with warehouse and operations teams to ensure effective stock control and minimise inventory losses.
Financial Reporting & General Ledger
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded.
- Manage journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and account reconciliations.
- Prepare management reports and provide financial insights to support business decisions.
Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable
- Monitor customer collections and maintain accurate receivable records.
- Process supplier payments and ensure invoices are settled on time.
- Reconcile distributor, vendor, and key customer accounts regularly.
- Manage trade discounts, promotional rebates, and credit notes.
- Assist in cash flow monitoring and working capital management.
Taxation, Compliance & Audit
- Prepare and submit VAT/Sales Tax returns and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Support corporate tax compliance, statutory reporting, and financial documentation.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors and provide the necessary financial information.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
ERP Systems & Process Improvements
- Use ERP systems, preferably Odoo, to manage financial transactions and reporting activities.
- Maintain accurate financial data and system records.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and enhance operational efficiency.
- Generate financial reports and provide meaningful insights to management.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, including at least 1–2 years within an FMCG or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory accounting, financial reporting, and taxation.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including functions such as Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and financial data analysis.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems, preferably Odoo.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with a proactive and team-oriented approach.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to turn financial data into practical business recommendations.
