Job Description
We are currently looking for an experienced and proactive Safety Officer (HSE Officer) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and helping our project teams maintain safe and efficient work environments.
About the Role
As a Safety Officer, you will work closely with project managers, engineers, supervisors, and site teams to ensure that every project is carried out safely and in line with company standards, client requirements, and local HSE regulations.
Your primary goal will be to identify potential risks before they become incidents and to implement effective safety measures that protect everyone on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and enforce health, safety, and environmental policies across project sites.
- Carry out regular site inspections and identify potential hazards.
- Conduct risk assessments and recommend practical safety improvements.
- Ensure all employees and subcontractors follow established safety procedures.
- Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions for site personnel.
- Monitor the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe practices and prepare detailed reports.
- Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate with project teams to implement preventive and corrective safety measures.
- Promote continuous improvement and foster a positive safety culture throughout the organization.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience as a Safety Officer, HSE Officer, or Construction Safety Officer, preferably within the interior fit-out or construction industry.
- Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent safety qualifications.
- Strong understanding of construction safety procedures, HSE regulations, risk assessments, and incident management.
- Excellent communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with site teams and management.
