Job Description
We are currently looking for a qualified and experienced Land Surveyor to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who has solid experience working on civil construction and earthwork projects in the GCC, and who is confident handling site surveys, measurements, and quantity calculations.
As a Land Surveyor, you will play an important role in supporting construction activities by ensuring that all site measurements, levels, and layouts are accurate and aligned with the project drawings. Your work will help engineers and project teams carry out construction activities efficiently and according to plan.
The position requires hands-on experience with modern surveying equipment and engineering software, along with the ability to work closely with site teams in an active construction environment.
About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out site surveys, setting out construction layouts, and preparing accurate survey reports. Your work will help ensure that construction activities follow the approved engineering drawings, project specifications, and site coordinates.
You will also be responsible for calculating earthwork quantities such as excavation and backfilling, which are essential for project planning and progress monitoring. The role involves regular site visits, working with construction teams, and maintaining proper documentation of survey data.
This position is best suited for someone who is detail-oriented, technically skilled, and comfortable working on construction sites.
Key Responsibilities
Site Surveying and Layout
- Conduct site surveys, leveling, and measurement activities
- Establish benchmarks, reference points, and site control points
- Carry out construction layout and setting-out work according to drawings
- Ensure all measurements match approved engineering plans and site requirements
- Support engineers during foundation layout, road alignment, and structural positioning
Survey Equipment Operation
- Operate surveying equipment such as:
- Total Station
- GPS (GNSS)
- Auto Level
- Record and manage accurate survey measurements and field data
- Maintain and check surveying equipment to ensure accurate readings
Earthwork & Quantity Calculations
- Calculate earthwork quantities including excavation and backfilling
- Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to calculate excavation volumes and site levels
- Perform cut and fill calculations for construction projects
- Support engineers with quantity verification and measurement reports
Survey Documentation
- Prepare survey drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Produce as-built drawings after completion of construction works
- Maintain proper survey reports, field notes, and documentation
- Ensure all survey data is recorded and stored for project reference
Quality and Safety Compliance
- Follow QA/QC procedures and project quality standards
- Ensure all survey activities comply with site safety regulations
- Support site inspections and engineering verification processes
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of GCC experience as a Land Surveyor
- Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering or Surveying
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Experience using Total Station, GPS (GNSS), and Auto Level
- Good understanding of earthworks and civil construction projects
- Ability to calculate excavation and backfilling quantities accurately
- Must know how to perform excavation quantity calculations in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and construction plans
- Experience preparing survey reports and as-built drawings
- Familiar with QA/QC procedures and construction safety standards
Preferred Candidate
- Experience working on large civil engineering or infrastructure projects
- Good understanding of site grading, road works, and utility layouts
- Ability to coordinate effectively with engineers and site supervisors
- Immediate joiners are preferred
