We’re currently looking for an experienced QA/QC Coating Inspector to join our team for ongoing onshore and offshore projects in Saudi Arabia.
If you have a strong background in coating inspection, corrosion protection, quality control, and coating testing, and hold recognized certifications such as NACE, BGAS, or FROSIO, this could be an excellent opportunity to take the next step in your career.
About the Role
As a QA/QC Coating Inspector, you’ll play an important role in ensuring that all coating activities are completed to the highest quality standards. From checking surface preparation and coating applications to maintaining inspection records and conducting testing activities, you’ll be responsible for ensuring every stage of the process meets project requirements and industry standards.
You’ll work closely with project teams, engineers, supervisors, and client representatives to ensure coating activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and correctly.
What You’ll Be Doing
Inspection & Quality Control
- Inspect coating materials, equipment, and construction activities for both internal and external field joint coatings
- Monitor coating applications using robotic and semi-automatic coating equipment
- Verify that coating procedures comply with project specifications and approved standards
- Ensure activities follow:
- Inspection Test Plans (ITPs)
- SATIP, SATR, and SAIC requirements
- Project specifications and quality procedures
- Applicable technical standards
Surface Preparation & Coating Activities
- Inspect blasting and surface preparation activities before coating application
- Verify environmental conditions before and during coating work
- Monitor coating application processes and curing requirements
- Ensure proper handling and usage of coating materials and consumables
Inspection & Testing Activities
Carry out and witness various inspection and testing activities, including:
- Visual inspections
- Environmental condition checks
- Surface profile measurements
- Salt contamination tests
- Dust tests
- Holiday testing
- Cure testing
- Dry Film Thickness (DFT) measurements
- Surface cleanliness inspections
You may also perform destructive testing activities such as:
- Adhesion testing
- Penetration testing
- Impact testing
- Hardness testing
- DSC sampling
- Hot-soak adhesion evaluations
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain:
- Daily inspection reports
- Surveillance reports
- Inspection logs
- Quality records
- Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)
- Inspection certificates and approvals
- Ensure all documentation is:
- Accurate
- Updated
- Properly reviewed
- Filed according to project requirements
Coordination & Project Support
- Work closely with:
- Project Managers
- QA/QC Supervisors
- Construction Teams
- Client Representatives
- Vendors and Subcontractors
- Participate in:
- Internal audits
- Client inspections
- Quality meetings
- Continuous improvement activities
What We’re Looking For
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
- Materials Engineering
- Metallurgical Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a QA/QC Coating Inspector
- Experience in:
- Oil & Gas Projects
- Pipeline Projects
- Offshore Projects
- Industrial Construction Projects
Certifications
Candidates should hold one of the following certifications:
- NACE Level 2 Certification
- BGAS Grade 1 Certification
- FROSIO Certification
Additional certifications will be an advantage:
- Offshore BOSIET / Survival Certificate
- Valid Seaman’s Book
- Ability to pass the IEU Level 2 Coating Inspector Examination
Skills & Competencies
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Strong knowledge of coating inspection procedures and testing methods
- Good understanding of corrosion protection systems and industrial coatings
- Excellent documentation and reporting skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to adapt to changing project schedules and priorities
- Good working knowledge of:
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft PowerPoint
Work Environment
This position involves working on both onshore and offshore project sites and may require:
- Standing and walking for extended periods during inspections
- Using testing instruments and inspection equipment regularly
- Working around industrial machinery and construction activities
- Occasionally lifting inspection tools and equipment
- Working in environments where hearing protection and safety equipment may be required
