About the Role
As a CNC Machine Programmer / Operator, you will be responsible for running CNC machines that process wood panels and materials used in furniture and interior joinery projects. Your day-to-day work will involve loading CNC programs, setting up materials, adjusting tools, and monitoring the machining process to ensure everything runs smoothly.
You will also work closely with the design and production teams to ensure that every piece produced matches the required specifications. Maintaining high standards of accuracy, finishing, and quality will be a key part of this role.
The position requires someone who is comfortable working with technical drawings, CNC machine interfaces, and CAD/CAM files, while also maintaining a safe and organized workspace.
Key Responsibilities
CNC Machine Operation
- Operate CNC machines such as CNC routers, beam saws, and boring machines used in woodworking production
- Load CNC programs and production data using machine software
- Set up materials, tools, and fixtures before starting the machining process
- Ensure machines are correctly calibrated for accurate cutting and shaping
Production Work
- Read and interpret technical drawings, CAD files, and cutting lists
- Monitor the machining process and make adjustments when necessary
- Ensure all parts are produced according to the required measurements and design specifications
- Maintain steady production output according to the production schedule
Quality Control
- Check finished parts using measuring tools such as calipers, gauges, and tape measures
- Make sure each component meets the required dimensions and finishing standards
- Report any defects, inaccuracies, or machine issues to the supervisor
- Maintain consistent quality and precision throughout production
Machine Maintenance
- Carry out daily cleaning and basic maintenance of CNC machines
- Ensure tools and equipment remain in good working condition
- Report mechanical or software issues to the maintenance team
Health & Safety
- Follow all workplace safety procedures while operating machinery
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Technical Certificate in Carpentry, Wood Technology, CNC Operation, or a related field
- 2–3 years of experience operating CNC machines in a woodworking or joinery environment
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and CAD/CAM files
- Familiarity with CNC programming software such as AutoCAD, WoodWOP, AlphaCAM, or similar systems
- Knowledge of wood panels, materials, and machining techniques

- Good mechanical understanding and problem-solving ability
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with CNC machine control systems
