We’re currently on the lookout for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer who’s ready to take the lead on major projects in the Oil & Gas, petrochemical, and infrastructure sectors. If you enjoy solving complex engineering challenges, guiding teams, and delivering high-quality work from concept through completion, this could be a great fit for you.
This role is best suited for someone with strong hands-on experience in power systems, ETAP studies, and electrical design, especially within large-scale industrial or EPC environments.
What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you’ll be leading both people and projects. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Managing and mentoring a team of 10–20 engineers and designers
- Planning and organizing electrical design activities to keep projects on track
- Carrying out and reviewing ETAP studies such as load flow, short circuit, and arc flash analysis
- Estimating project timelines, manpower, and resource needs
- Designing and specifying systems like substations, transformers, switchgear, UPS, and power distribution networks
- Reviewing technical drawings including single line diagrams, layouts, and cable routing
- Ensuring proper protection coordination and system reliability
- Working closely with procurement teams on vendor selection and technical evaluations
- Supporting project stages from design to construction and commissioning
- Leading technical meetings and presentations with clients
- Making sure everything is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards
Who You’ll Work With
You won’t be working in isolation. You’ll regularly collaborate with:
- Engineers from other disciplines like mechanical, civil, and instrumentation
- Project managers and planning teams
- Equipment suppliers and vendors
- Clients, consultants, and key stakeholders
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s is a plus)
- Around 15+ years of solid experience in Electrical Design Engineering
- Strong background in:
- Oil & Gas
- Petrochemical or refinery projects
- Offshore or onshore industrial projects
- Infrastructure developments
- Experience working on large EPC projects, preferably in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East
Skills That Will Help You Succeed
- Deep understanding of electrical design and construction practices
- Hands-on experience with ETAP and power system analysis tools
- Strong knowledge of:
- HV, MV, and LV systems
- Power distribution and protection systems
- Relay coordination and fault analysis
- Familiarity with international standards like IEEE, IEC, NFPA, API, ANSI/NEMA
- Knowledge of Saudi standards (SEC) is an added advantage
- Ability to lead teams, solve problems, and communicate clearly with clients
