What You’ll Be Doing
Designing Fire Protection Systems
You’ll design reliable and efficient fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, and suppression solutions for a variety of buildings. Your work will directly contribute to safer environments.
Understanding Fire Behaviour
Using fire modelling tools, you’ll study how fire and smoke behave in different scenarios. This helps you create smarter and more effective safety systems.
Assessing Risks Before They Happen
You’ll carry out detailed fire risk assessments, spotting potential hazards early and recommending practical solutions to reduce risks.
Working with Project Teams
You won’t be working alone. You’ll collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction teams to make sure fire safety is built into every stage of a project.
Ensuring Compliance
Making sure everything meets required standards is a big part of the job. You’ll ensure systems follow SEC regulations, NFPA codes, and other fire safety standards.
Testing & Commissioning
Before systems go live, you’ll oversee testing and commissioning to make sure everything works exactly as it should.
Improving Existing Systems
You’ll also review older systems and suggest upgrades or improvements to keep everything up to date and effective.
What We’re Looking For
- A degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Around 2–5 years of experience in fire protection or fire safety engineering
- Solid knowledge of fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, and suppression systems
- Familiarity with NFPA standards and SEC regulations
- Experience with tools like AutoCAD, Revit, or fire modelling software (FDS, Pyrosis, etc.) is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work well with teams and manage tasks efficiently
Extra Skills That Will Help
- Fire safety certifications (like NFPA or equivalent)
- Experience in large-scale projects such as high-rise buildings or industrial sites
- Knowledge of smoke control systems and evacuation planning
